Dancing, Measuring and Learning: A Great Week in Jeffers and Bright Class
Jeffers Class
This week in Jeffers Class, the children have been busy practising their dancing with Miss Shaw. They have learned that, in dance, they count in 8s to keep in time with the music. The children came up with their own moves based on the weather and performed them to their friends. It was so much fun!
In Maths, we learned about measuring in cms. We used our nail to estimate 1cm and our palm to estimate 10cm. We went outside to try to find 2 objects: 1 close to 1cm and one close to 10cm. Then, we went back inside and checked our predictions using rulers.
Bright Class
What a fantastic first week back the children have had in Bright Class. They have settled in beautifully, and welcomed Mrs Doughty to the class.
This week, they have been busy measuring in non-standard units of measurement and centimetres, writing letters inspired by Paddington’s Post, and explored their senses as well as learning the differences between vertebrates and invertebrates.
A brilliant start to the term! Well done, Bright Class.
