Plaque unveiled at Lorraine Infant School in honour of Free French Forces Camp

On Saturday 11^th November 2023, the Mayor of Surrey Heath Borough Council, Michael Gove and an Attache from the French Embassy unveiled two blue plaques, one at the Beacon Church and one at Lorraine Infant School, in honour of the Free French Forces camps that were based on these sites at the end of World War II.

On the day, a number of children represented our schools and performed a chorus in honour of the Free French Forces.  To mark the occasion further, assemblies took place across Pine Ridge and Lorraine Schools and the children entered a colouring competition to design a cross for the Free French Forces flag.
