It's all about Healthy Eating and Hygiene at PRL this week!

This week, the children in Year 2 have been learning about Healthy Eating and Hygiene.  They had an interesting visit from the School Nurse who talked about the importance of eating enough fruit, vegetables and healthy foods to provide them with the essential vitamins, minerals and fibre needed for a well-balanced diet.  Eating too much food containing salt, sugar or unhealthy fats is not good for you.

The children then had the opportunity to see how well they could wash their hands and brush their teeth.  It was lots of fun using the UV lights to see how well they had ‘washed’ or ‘not washed’ their hands as they were able to see the areas they had missed!

The children also learnt about brushing their teeth.  Each child brushed their teeth and then chewed a disclosing tablet to see how well they had cleaned them!
