Today - 1st anniversary of all schools in England closing for the 1st lockdown. Thanks to everyone for their remarkable stoicism and support over the last 12 months. Both academic years have been disrupted and our collective resilience has been tested. But we take it day by day.

A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers who have been at MPS for the past few weeks testing staff and students. As you can see, even with masks on, they are a welcoming and friendly bunch and they have been amazingly calm and reassuring with everyone having their tests. https://t.co/MJe0LOKyvH

Remote Learning

We are committed to providing our pupils with a
broad and balanced curriculum throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Seesaw

We have chosen to use Seesaw as an online platform for delivering teaching and learning materials to pupils.  Each pupil will receive an individual Seesaw login and their account will be monitored by their teachers.  Our teachers monitor Seesaw regularly and give pupils individual feedback using the platform.

Seesaw was accessed by the vast majority of pupils and was used successfully during school closure.  For pupils unable to access Seesaw alternative arrangements can be made.

We have decided to continue to use Seesaw for remote learning.  For how to guides please visit https://web.seesaw.me/remote-learning-for-families.

Our remote learning curriculum package

We are very proud of the curriculum package offered during school closure and to isolating pupils.  Each year group is provided with their own bespoke curriculum, designed, monitored and assessed by the normal class teachers.  Our weekly remote lessons include:

  • Spelling punctuation and grammar/Phonics
  • Reading
  • Mathematics
  • Topic activities linked to our curriculum
  • Outdoor learning activities
  • Art
  • PE activities
  • Live and regular assemblies

The lesson materials are uploaded each week and can be accessed at a time to suit the pupil.  In addition to this, in the event of school closure we offer weekly ‘circle time’ live assemblies via video link to provide pupils with social and emotional support and contact with their class group.
